Forging and metal structures shop


Source materials for forgings and stampings are ingots, cast sections and rolled iron.

Ingots of structural quality steel are used for forging production. There are used steel grades according to DIN, EN, AISI, ASTM, GOST 1050-88: 20,35,45; according to GOST 4543-71:  40HN, 40HN2MA, 30HN3A, 30HN2N4A, 34HN3MA, 30HGSA; alloy steel grades 5HNM, 6HV2S according to GOST 5950-73 etc. Similar steel grades are used for forgings from rolled iron.

Maximum dimensions and mass of forging type "Shaft"
from ingots 20 tn 1000 mm. 6000 mm.
from rolled meal 2,5tn 280 mm. 3500 mm.

Maximum dimensions and mass of forging type "Ring"  (tread ring)
9 tn 2500 mm. 450mm.

At customer's request  forgings are supplied with guaranteed mechanical properties and  heat treated. The quality of heat treatment is provided by availability  of modern heating and heat treatment furnaces.

The section of metal structures is intended for producing metal structures, their articles and parts made of the following materials:

  • rolled section
  • sheet products
  • castings from carbon and high-carbon steel

To produce blanks  there are shears, presses, thermal cutting machines, bending machines in the shop. The equipment of the shop enables:

  • shell bending with minimum internal diameter 195 mm from sheet with thikness up to 40 mm
  • production of blanks  of angle, channel in length up to 3000 mm, bent on sheet bending machine.

Welding of metal structures is carried out by:

  • manual open arc welding;
  • semi-automatic welding in carbonic-acid media;
  • semi-automatic welding using self-protected powder-metallurgy wire.

Strengthening of the surface layer of the parts is achieved by manual and semi-automatic electric-arc surface welding. Weld quality is determined by the ultrasonic control.

Maximum dimensions of metallic structures are: 4000 x 4000 x 17000 mm, mass to 40 t (slinging by two cranes).
